The Parish Church
The Parish Church of St. Mary
the Virgin, Powerstock. From the churchyard (left) and from the
road (right)
The original Norman church consisting
of chancel, nave and west tower was built of local stone about
the middle of the 12th Century. Aisles were added in the 14th
Century and the tower altered. Early in the 15th Century it was
further altered and heightened. In 1859 the chancel, north aisle
and nave were rebuilt, four decorated windows being retained.
The south aisle and porch are modern.
